Nazanin S. Fard

Nazanin "Nazee" S. Fard was born in 1956 in Iran. Her mother who is an avid knitter taught her to knit at the age of 4 and she learned to crochet in middle school. In 1980, she received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, and worked as a computer programmer until 1988, when she moved to United States.
After her first son was born, she decided to stay home to raise him. This was the time that she started thinking about her first passion designing. Her first published design was a Knit vest (Falling Leaves), which appeared in November 1992 issue of Knitting World magazine. Ever since, her designs have appeared in such magazines as: Knitting World, Knitting Digest, Crochet Digest, Crafts 'n Things, Pack-O-Fun, Crochet World, Annie's crochet newsletter, Hooked on Crochet, Crafts, Quick & Easy Crochet, Crochet Fantasy, Great American Crafts, RibbonWorks Design Club, Complete Knitting Collection, and Knitter's magazine. Some of her designs are published in pattern books such as "Quick & Easy Rag Rugs", "Pineapple Wearables", "Knit Heirloom Doilies", "Side-to-Side Sweaters", "Ultimate Book of Knit Pineapples", and "Purse Pizazz". She is also a Certified Knitting Instructor by CYCA (Craft Yarn Council of America). Her instructions are accurate and she believes she owes the accuracy of her instructions to her computer background. Also, it should be mentioned that she has designed and developed this, and other web sites. You can contact her at
